The approaches described in Graeme Newell's 2-minute Emotional Marketing Lesson videos affect me because advertisements today almost always possess these traits/characteristics, and dictate how people will react to a product based on how it is presented. Depending on the advertisement, different groups of people will be affected. For example, a product's advertisement that relates to children will most likely affect people who have a correlation to children. One example from these videos is the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, as it most directly affects women. "It tapped very deep core emotions, women were just plain old angry about unattainable standards being presented by the beauty industry. Dove created dramatic ads like this one, that boldly sought to redefine the definition of beauty. Research show that they had hit up powerful emotional court." This is significant because it appealed to women (specifically) who disapproved of the "unattainable" standards of beauty shown in many other advertisements.Thursday, 20 October 2016
