1. Explain the problem.
The common practice in the Solid Waste Management sector in Nigeria is to dump the waste in often poorly managed landfills, resulting in methane emissions (potent GHG) due to development of anaerobic conditions.
2. How are they composting?
The way the project works is used to capture gas from the waste and use it to generate electricity. The gas is taken from landfills using wells and a blower or vacuum system. This system directs the gas to a point where it can me processed and treated depending on what it will be used for.
3. What problems has it solved?
The project will prevent the release of greenhouse gases that endanger the environment.
