Animals all over the world have been taken away from their natural habitats to sell, and to keep in zoos. When you go to a zoo, it may seem like the animals enjoy the captivity, and some of them might, but most animals in zoos long for freedom. Wild animals should not be held in captivity. Most zoos do not provide the right kind of care for these animals. This can mean not having the right diet, and living in cramped spaces.
Some places in the world keep, then sell wild animals, breaking the bonds between their family members and other animals that have grown close to them. Wild animals in captivity tend to suffer from stress and boredom more often than when they are in their natural habitat. It is not right to treat animals in a way that is not right for them. A study found that only %2 of over 6,000 threatened species were registered in the breeding program. This shows that zoos do very little to help these endangered animals. Many people say that wild animals enjoy being in captivity, and they are safe. They are definitely safe, however, they need their freedom, just as we need ours. It is often said that watching wild animals' behaviours while they are being held captive can be educational. However, in my opinion, watching wild animals in their natural habitats is probably more educational, since they are more adjusted and more comfortable with their surroundings. If they all lived in freedom, without being kept in cages with limited space, wild animals all over the world would be happier, healthier, and able to live a better life.
